Entry #002 – The Flash Drive
I didn’t know his name. He didn’t ask for mine.
All I remember is the way he moved—too calm for someone in a panic. He found me in a service tunnel beneath the marina, after the raid. My hands were still shaking from the sirens. My face was still up on the jumbotron at the yacht club. I should’ve run.
Instead, I followed him.
He didn’t speak until we reached the end of the corridor. Just handed me a sealed envelope, nodded once, and disappeared through a side hatch. Gone like smoke.
Inside the envelope was a black flash drive. Unlabeled. Untraceable. Cold to the touch like it had been frozen in a Faraday cage.
Plugging it in was the biggest mistake of my life.
Or maybe it saved me.
What was on that drive wasn’t just data. It was a map—a buried trail of transactions, wallet signatures, and something else… something encrypted so deep, even I couldn’t crack it. Not alone.
But others could. Others who’d kill to control what it unlocks.
Now they’re watching. Because I have the drive.
And I know what it’s worth.
